O (annealed)
Fully soft. The choice for deep drawing, spinning and severe bending, such as cookware and lamp reflectors.
Continuous aluminium for high-volume production lines. Metline Industries supplies mill-finish, coated and slit aluminium coil and strip from Mumbai for roofing, cladding, HVAC, packaging, transformer and general fabrication work.

Coil is the most efficient way to buy thin aluminium in volume. Instead of handling individual sheets, a press line, roll former or slitter feeds directly from a wound coil, cutting set-up time, scrap and handling damage. Strip is simply coil that has been slit to a narrower width so it matches the exact blank or profile you are producing.
The right coil depends on what happens next on your line. Roll forming roofing sheet needs a different temper from deep drawing a cooking vessel, and a transformer winding needs high conductivity rather than strength. Tell us the process and the finished part, and we will match the alloy, temper, thickness and coil dimensions to it.
Most coil is bought in pure aluminium or the non-heat-treatable 3xxx, 5xxx and 8xxx alloys, chosen for formability, corrosion resistance and finish.
| Alloy | Family | Why it is chosen | Typical uses |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1050 / 1060 / 1070 | Commercially pure | Highest conductivity and formability, excellent corrosion resistance | Transformer windings, reflectors, chemical equipment, insulation cladding |
| 1100 | Commercially pure | Good formability with slightly higher strength than 1050 | Utensils, fin stock, nameplates, general sheet metal |
| 3003 | Al–Mn | About 20% stronger than 1100, still easy to form and weld | Roofing, cladding, HVAC ducting, cookware |
| 3105 | Al–Mn–Mg | Good strength and paint adhesion for coated products | Colour-coated roofing, rainwater goods, closures |
| 5052 | Al–Mg | Higher strength and very good corrosion resistance | Marine panels, truck bodies, appliance and electronics housings |
| 8011 | Al–Fe–Si | Fine grain structure ideal for thin gauges | Bottle closures, container stock, lidding and foil stock |
| 6061 | Al–Mg–Si | Heat-treatable strength where formed parts need it | Structural strip, brackets, engineered components |
Temper decides how far the coil can be bent or drawn before it cracks, and how stiff the finished part will be.
Fully soft. The choice for deep drawing, spinning and severe bending, such as cookware and lamp reflectors.
Half hard. A balance of stiffness and formability for roll-formed profiles, ducting and general fabrication.
Three-quarter hard. Stiffer panels and roofing that must hold shape across wide spans.
Full hard. Maximum stiffness for flat products, closures and parts that see little forming.
H2x tempers are partially annealed after rolling, giving better ductility than H1x at the same strength.
Share the bend radius or draw depth and we will recommend the temper that will not crack on your tooling.
Plain, embossed and colour-coated coil for roll-formed roofing, wall panels and soffits.
Fin stock and ducting coil for air-conditioning and heat exchangers.
High-conductivity strip for transformer windings, busbars and cable shielding.
Closure, container and foil stock for food, beverage and pharmaceutical packaging.
Truck, trailer and bus body panels where corrosion resistance and low weight count.
Mill-finish and embossed coil for pipe and tank insulation cladding in process plants.
Coil is specified by thickness, width, inner diameter and either outer diameter or coil weight. Matching the inner diameter to your decoiler and the coil weight to your handling equipment avoids delays when the material arrives.
Availability of each size depends on alloy and temper. Confirm when you enquire.
Coil is wound aluminium at mill width. Strip is coil that has been slit to a narrower width, usually to match the blank or profile size on your production line.
3003 and 3105 in H14 to H26 tempers are the most common choices. They roll form well, resist weathering and take paint coatings reliably.
Commercially pure grades such as 1050, 1060 and 1070 in the annealed condition, because they offer the highest electrical conductivity.
Yes. Send the width, thickness and quantity and we will confirm availability and lead time for slit strip.
Length is coil weight divided by the product of thickness, width and density (2.70 g/cm³ for most coil alloys). Our coil calculator does this for you.
Send us the alloy, temper, thickness, width and coil weight. Our Mumbai team will reply with availability, lead time and a competitive quote.
